Abstract: The talk will cover the temperature limits to growth of MWNTs and SWNTs by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and plasma enhanced CVD. The nature of the catalyst is important. Various methods for patterned growth will be described. Proposed growth mechanisms involved in tip and root growth processes will be discussed.
